Injury Scare!

Ok, so it's a cliche... a runner with a knee injury! And, after the Marwell 10, that is what I thought I was. From the first km I had a pain in the outer side of my right knee and by 3k this pain was shooting up my thigh to my hip. It was very unpleasant but I knew that I could get round. Being a very hilly course didn't help and there were moments going up hills that I thought my leg was going to give way, but it didn't. I finished, and then started worrying about the damage possibly done!

The benefits of being a member of a running club are many and one is access to specialists. Lucky for me, two of our club members are expert sport masseurs. I was pointed in their direction by the girls that had been at Marwell with me and had my first session last night. Within seconds they had diagnosed me, within minutes they had done the tests to confirm their diagnosis and gave me some very good news. I don't have an injury... I have the symptoms of an injury but it has been caught early and can be sorted quite easily with further sessions and some daily targeted stretches! It also won't stop me running and I can be back at training tomorrow! Woop Woop!
